Padauk Maloof Inspired Rocker

Project Description

Padauk is an exotic hardwood from Africa. Cut into as fresh wood its appearance is bright orange and while working with it at times its dust can cover you from head to toe (think oompaloompa) which is what I looked like while sculpting the joints of this iconic Maloof style rocker. Over time and exposure to UV rays the wood darkens and takes on a distinguished patina.
